Then there's my conversation with Linnea. They are incredible. We trade ideas, discuss goals, talk about travel and swap stories. We feed off of each other's energy and get inspired to do, see and be more.
I get it, I have different comfort levels of conversation with different people. But then again, what about "the words that are coming out my mouth!?!"
How much time do I spend complaining? How much time do I spend encouraging? How much time do I spend listening? (Gulp). How much time do I talk about pointless reality TV?
This quote by Eleanor Roosevelt gets me good every time....
Daily Challenge:
Our words are powerful. Our conversations can be impactful.
Today's challenge is to actively think about what we are saying. Think of today's conversations as a pie graph. How much conversation is spent complaining, encouraging, leading, listening, discussing ideas, or gossiping? How much of your daily conversation is negative? How much of your daily conversation is positive? How much of your daily conversation is (gulp) pointless?
Let's take it one step further, when was the last time you gave someone a compliment? This girl I work with is always so damn good about complimenting an outfit, praising my interactions with customers and my training methods. Her words make me feel like a million bucks. A compliment can change someone's ENTIRE DAY. Even if it's a total stranger and you like their shoes, cufflinks, watch or purse....go for it!
Now let's get real weird and take it one step further. Let's stop "liking" everyone's stuff on Facebook and take 8 seconds to tell them why we like it, maybe personally message them and tell them why it impacted your day or (I don't know, call me crazy) pick up the phone and tell them.
