Living as a Legacy

Good Morning Love Bugs,
This time of year is always a life gauge for me. It's the time of year that makes me reflect on my dad's life and what I miss most about him. (I thought you said this was a happy, positive blog???  It is, it is....hear me out....)

Let's stop and think about our own lives. How will we be remembered? What song, fragrance, place, activity, holiday, dessert, or hobby will have someone pause and reflect about our lives?

I think of the extraordinary people that have walked this earth and have left incredible legacies; people such as Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa, The Wright Brothers, Alexander Graham Bell, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mozart and many others that have changed the world. They were impactful because they didn't just live for themselves, they weren't afraid to share their ideas or talents, and they pursued big dreams despite failures.

We are all capable of making a difference. We are all capable of impacting at least one person's life.

Here's me circling back to my dad. The quote "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world" gives me goosies. If I can be a Ray Rodriguez in someone else's life the way he was in mine, well damn, I did something amazing.

Daily Challenge:
Let's take 5 minutes this morning and think about actively living as a legacy.
If you are clueless on how to even begin "living as a legacy" stew over the stuff below:
1. What am I creating that is impactful?
2. What avenue, space or environment am I creating to better or empower someone else's life?
3. What kind of a parent am I? You can't over-hug, over-I-love-you, or spend too much time with your kid(s).
4. How awesome of a friend are you? Are you a mirror image of the type of friend that you want or need in your life?
5. Try being what you need to someone else. Do you need someone to listen? Do you need help with your out of control yard? Would random flowers brighten your day? Would a handwritten card simply stating that someone was thinking of you bring a smile to your face? Yup? The get on it
because someone needs that from you :)

 Song of the Day:
Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child  http://youtu.be/1y6smkh6c-0

UberFact:
In Tokyo, there's a travel agency that will take your stuffed animals on vacation.

If you've gotten this far, thank you so much for reading this! I hope your day is truly amazing!

  1. Make your absence felt... Uncle Raynie(my spelling, I lime it) and Uncle David... I don't think they knew how good they would be at this. I am loving your blog and I am planning to travel, using my passport, with you and your mom... in this next 18 months. That's my goal ... we have memories that are just needing to be made.

    1. I'm just now figuring out how to read people's comments and to reply. Thanks so much for not only reading my blog, but for taking the time to share some love. Grab your passport and let's go :)
